Educational Housing Services, Inc. (EHS), Announces Appointment of New President and CEO, Jeffrey H. Lynford
Jeffrey H. Lynford Takes Helm Following Retirement of EHS Founder, George Scott BROOKLYN, NY (November 13, 2012)---Educational Housing Services, Inc. (EHS), the leading provider of private, off-campus student housing in New York City, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey H. Lynford as the new President and CEO of the not-for-profit company. Mr. Lynford replaces EHS Founder and President George Scott, who has retired after 25 years of service to the organization. The announcement was made today by Chairman of the EHS Board of Directors, Michael Lerner.
Mr. Lynford was the co-founder of the Wellsford group of public and private real estate companies and provided 18 years of continuous executive corporate leadership as the Chairman of three exchange-listed corporations. Previously, for nearly a decade, he held senior investment banking positions on Wall Street.
Mr. Lynford brings extensive not-for-profit, higher- education, business, real estate, and civic experience to the EHS leadership position. Currently, he holds three gubernatorial appointments as a Commissioner of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a Member of the New York State Council on the Arts and a Trustee of the Trust for Governors Island. In addition, he serves on the board of New York University and the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, where he is its Deputy Chair. Previously he was a member of the Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, Vice Chair of the Global Heritage Fund, and a trustee or director of various not-for-profit organizations including the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the Citizens Budget Commission, and the Caramoor International Center for Music and the Arts.

Mr. Lynford holds three university degrees, including a Masters in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University, a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
He is married to Tondra Lynford who is a psychotherapist, a co-founder of Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc., and currently a Trustee of the Anderson Foundation for Autism. They are the parents of four children.
