New Community Kitchen and Dining Area Unveiled at NYC’s 1760 Third Avenue Residence
New space features 2750 square feet designed by award-winning architecture firm Wid Chapman and Associates
BROOKLYN, NY (September 25, 2014): Educational Housing Services, Inc. (EHS), the leading provider of private, off-campus student housing in New York City, is proud to announce a new community kitchen and dining area has opened for its residents at the 1760 Third Avenue building in NYC’s Upper East Side neighborhood.
The new area is 2750 square feet and consists of stoves, microwaves, sinks, countertops and seating for approximately 75 residents. The space also features a lounge, televisions and – like all of EHS’s buildings – complimentary wifi.
"The new common area will make it easier for residents to enjoy the sense of community that EHS is renowned for providing,” says Christy Gaiti-Chatfield, Senior Vice President of Student Life at EHS. “By providing more space to cook, study, or just relax, we are happy the new space will help our residents to enjoy each other's company."
The new space was designed by the award-winning architecture firm Wid Chapman Architects, which was praised for their renovation work at the EHS New Yorker Residence in 2013 and EHS St. George Residence in 2010. The firm helped create cooking facilities and lounges that are also eco-friendly in addition to being fresh and lively.
