We are looking for candidates that are not afraid to work, offer the best customer service to our residents and become an important support to our Student Life staff and residences. If you feel that you are up to the challenge, please complete the Re-Application and submit it no later than Friday, February 7th by 5:00PM.
We recommend that you look for alternative housing in case you do not get hired. All hired RAs are required to attend training on the below dates (times and locations to be confirmed, but please plan to have all days free):
Saturday, May 3rd
Sunday, May 4th
This application outlines expectations and prerequisites for the EHS RA position, which you are required to know and follow. All candidates will be notified via email and mail the week of March 24th.

RETURNING RA POSITION REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the regular position requirements (found in the Requirements section under RA Selection) returning RAs are to fulfill the below requirements:
EHS RAs are only allowed to work with us for a maximum of six semesters or two years (ending on a summer semester).
Currently enrolled in a higher education institution as a full-time student or as a part-time student with a valid part-time internship (proof of part-time internship is required on the company’s letterhead which will need to include dates of the internship). Please note that if you are not a full-time or part-time student with a part-time internship for the summer semester, you are welcome to apply for the position, but you will need to be a full time or a part time student with an internship for the fall and spring semesters.
RAs must have a minimum of 2.8 GPA and be in good financial standing with their school and Educational Housing Services. Please provide official/unofficial transcripts with your application.
Resident Advisors will not attend school for more than 15 credit hours and will not work more than 12 hours per week at an outside job/internship without prior approval from all their supervisors.
Resident Advisors will be placed in an area determined by Educational Housing Services. Staff may be reassigned at anytime Single rooms are not guaranteed for anyone and can be changed during the semester to other room types.
RA rooms will be used as tour rooms during the entire semester Therefore, RAs are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized room. EHS staff will inform a RA when there will be a tour. However, keep in mind that we have last minute tours that we must accommodate.
Hired RAs are required to work during check-out weekend, which varies per building, but for most residences is: weekend of May 17th (Spring 2025) and weekend of August 9th and 16th (Summer 2025). RAs hired for the Marymount residence must be available to work on the weekend of August 9th.
Be available to attend all required (unpaid) training sessions as outlined in their staff agreement (e.g. training, regular in-services, staff outings). Please be advised that by not attending the trainings you will be disqualified and/or removed from the RA position:
Summer RA Training Days: Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th (plan to be all day in training).
Resident Advisors will work a minimum of 15 (day and night) hours a week, an average of 60 office hours per calendar month in the Student Life Office.
Typical office day hours are from 9am to 5pm and night office hours are from 5pm to 10pm, plus any duty nights, weekend coverage and programming guidelines depending on the needs of the building and staff.
RA pay varies per building and amount of hours. EHS reserves the right to change RA compensations at any time during the semester.
Spending the night away from your assigned building is only permitted with prior approval from your supervisor. Permission is based on adequate staff coverage, extended time away from building and the frequency of requests from the staff member.
Any extended leave during non-vacation time beyond one week (medical, personal) may result in termination of contract. This decision will be at the discretion of the RAs' supervisors (If you have any pre-planned time off, please include it in the application. It will not have a negative effect in your eligibility).
For the Summer Semester, Resident Advisors are expected to plan/coordinate/execute at least 3 events per month and help with any extra events that are created for the EHS community. Free tickets will only be provided to the RA that is in charge of the event.
RETURNING RA SELECTION PROCESS:
EHS RA plan for alternate housing in the event that he/she/they is/are not re-hired.
Current EHS RA completes the EHS RA Re-Application.
EHS RA submits completed application by Friday, February 7th (no later than 5:00pm) with all the required documents (documents can be uploaded in the application or sent via email):
- Un-Official School transcript (must be submitted with the application form).
- School classes, only if RA is taking any classes for the semester that he/she is applying.
- Internship letter, only if RA is will be doing an internship for the semester that he/she is applying.
RAs can request to visit another residence to experience another building for one day (even if they wish to stay at the same residence they live and work at). To arrange a visit, please contact your supervisor and he/she will coordinate a day and time for you to visit other buildings. Keep in mind that EHS reserves the right to move RAs to other residences with notice.
EHS Student Life Staff review the applications along with the overall performance of the RA.
Notifications of position status will be announced the week of March 24th via email and mail.
